The Westmoreland Athletic Complex (WAC) is a youth baseball/softball facility located off Westmoreland Road in Cornelius.  The Town is currently working on construction drawings for the project to develop Phase I of the project.  Phase I consists of developing two ball fields, restroom/concession building, playground, and parking.  The Town has $1.2 M in development funds with $500,000 coming from a NC Parks and Recreation Trust Fund.  The Town also has a local private developer that will donate design and construction services to assist with some of the development costs.  The project is anticipated to be complete by the Fall of 2010 with a grand opening in the Spring of 2011.
